Hawkeye was designed to allow on-scene collision investigators to capture important scene evidence for analysis in minutes without taking any measurements. Hawkeye is ideal for anyone who requires accurate top-down views with measurements of scenes.

Take measurements with your camera quickly and precisely so you can clear the road in seconds. You only need to have 4 reference points in the photograph with the dimensions known between the points. What used to take hours at the scene is now done in minutes and traffic is cleared right away.

All you need is a camera, chalk & measuring tape. And a few minutes of your time to convert scene photos into accurate top-down images for your FX3 Diagram.
We recommend that you use a 3 Mega pixel Digital Camera or higher for more accurate results. If you use a 35mm camera, use 50mm focal length and scan images at 200dpi or higher for best results.
Integrated into FX3
Launch HawkEye at the click os a button from FX3, follow the 5 step wizard, and BOOM - you are done! The converted scene photo is inserted to-scale into your diagram.

Easy to use Interface
A simple interface makes it easy to use for anyone, expert or novice. In a 5 step wizard the photo convert any perspective photo into a top-down photograph, fast and reliably.
Accurate
During extensive testing Hawkeye has proven to be 99.5% accurate using a 5 Megapixel Digital camera when compared to total station measurements.
This high degree of accuracy allows the user to take precise measurements on the placed photo. The accuracy of your top-down view for measurements depends on the quality of the photos taken at the scene.
Taking Measurements
Once the converted photo has been placed in the diagram then you can take measurements. Using the Measurement Tool you can accurately measure distances as well as angles.
How to use HawkEye images
HawkEye was designed as a photogrammetry tool to take easy measurements without expensive equipment.
But HawkEye images also work great to create background images for your diagrams or for 3D environment/animation; adding detail and precision to your reconstruction.
Note: Do not use with wide angle lenses. Lens distortion will make it impossible to convert your perspective photo accurately.
To capture more than you can with one photo, simply take more shots and piece them together.
